Frequent Traveler Reward Points

Whilst it pays to shop around for flights most of the time, if you are a frequent traveler then you may have good cause to stick with the same airlineā€¦even if it means paying a couple of extra dollars for each and every flight. The main reason being the fact that you are able to take advantage of the frequent traveler rewards program (if the airline offers one that is)
The vast majority of airlines out there (well, the major ones at least) want people to fly with them all of the time. After all, it is much better to secure repeat travelers than it is to find new ones. They encourage people to fly with them by offering something known as Frequent Traveler Reward Points.
The idea is that each and every time you fly you will be given a select number of reward points. This will depend on how far you are traveling and even the amount of distance that you will be traveling. You will then start to build up these points over time. They can then be exchanged for different rewards. For example, you may be able to exchange them for free trips on the airline in the future (i.e. air miles) in some cases you will be able to claim special offers. For example, people who regularly fly may be able to take advantage of the VIP lounge at the airport. Other people may be able to get a limousine to pick them up from the airport and take them to their final destination. If you are a frequent traveler then it really is worth looking into what rewards you can claim. In fact, even if you are not a frequent traveler you should sign up to these schemes anyway as the bonuses are often quite hefty.
